It is best to make sure you have the casting rod. For the casting reels, You cannot put a casting reel on a spinning rod.

Haha I just caught like 8 of these guys today/yesterday right next to the kure pier. They got some teeth! Snapped right through my 20 lbs mono. Since switched to a metal leader. Still learning how to fish, only my 1st time surf fishing. Great fish out there though.
